About North Texas Floorball Association
Floorball in the United States. A not-for-profit corporation, NTFA serves the south central United States as an affiliate of the United States Floorball Association. NTFA sanctions floorball leagues and tournaments, educates the public about the exciting international sport of floorball, facilitates training and development of players and referees, and follows the principles advanced by the International Floorball Federation (IFF).
I have been playing floorball for more than 12 years, and one of the greatest parts of that journey has been sharing the sport with my two sons. Beyond playing, I serve as the NTFA Team General Manager and organize youth and pickup leagues in Flower Mound, Texas.
Floorball has given me far more than just a game—it has introduced me to lasting friendships and an incredible sense of community. While I love competing on the court, what I enjoy even more is watching others discover the sport for the first time. Seeing someone catch the "floorball bug" and become excited about the game is one of the most rewarding experiences for me.
My goal is to continue growing the floorball community by creating opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to experience the fun, friendships, and passion that make this sport so special. I look forward to helping bring the joy of floorball to many more people in the years ahead.
I started playing floorball eight years ago, but an ACL injury brought my playing career to a halt in 2015. When our league found itself short on referees, I stepped in to help—and that decision opened a whole new chapter in my floorball journey. Today, I am a Level 2 USA Floorball referee and proud to be the only female referee to hold that certification.
A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to return to the court as a player. I currently serve as the Assistant General Manager of our 1st Team, Captain of our 2nd Team, and League Commissioner. These roles have allowed me to give back to a sport that has given me so much.
What I love most about floorball isn't just the game itself—it's the people. The friendships I've built have become family, and that sense of community is what keeps me passionate about growing the sport and helping others experience everything it has to offer.

I was introduced to floorball during a hockey trip to Sweden with my son in 2008. At the time, he was a hockey goalie participating in a series of events. During some downtime, we noticed local kids playing a sport they called innebandy. Curious, we bought a couple of sticks so the kids could give it a try. Before long, they were playing in the parking lot and having an absolute blast.
When we returned to the United States, I realized these lightweight sticks could be an excellent tool for off-ice hockey training. That idea led me to contact one of the stick manufacturers, and from that conversation, Floorball Planet was born in 2008.
What started as a chance discovery on a family trip has grown into a passion for introducing more people to the sport. It's been incredibly rewarding to help expand awareness of floorball in North America and across Texas and to see players of all ages discover the same excitement that first captured our family's attention in Sweden.

I have been playing floorball since I was a young child. In Finland, floorball is a common elementary school sport, so I was introduced to the game early. While I spent most of my youth playing hockey, floorball was always a part of my life. I represented my schools in tournaments, and one of my proudest memories was helping my team win the South Finland School Championship.
After stepping away from hockey, a group of friends and I founded a floorball team called Jutin Kivet, competing in Finland's 6th Division. Although we started in the lowest division, we spent most of our seasons competing in the 5th Division. Throughout those years, I had the honor of serving as team captain.
After moving to the United States in 2016, I quickly discovered the NTFA through the local Finnish community. Since then, I have been an active player in the local league and a member of the NTFA tournament team.
As a member of the board, I am committed to continuing the growth of floorball in our community and expanding opportunities for players of all ages—especially youth. I also plan to help promote the sport through Finnish publications while exploring opportunities to expand our outreach into Swedish media.
Outside of floorball, I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places, but the sport and its community continue to be one of my greatest passions.
