NTFA Summer League - Week #3 (Jun 21, 2021)

NTFA Summer 2021 League Game #3 is Monday, June 21, 2021.

Captains for this week are AJ - Blue (469-954-2645) and Case - Red (512-779-3754).  Rosters are posted.  Case's team (RED) will arrive early to set up boards.  EVERYBODY SHOULD BRING A RED AND A BLUE JERSEY IN CASE OF ROSTER ADJUSTMENTS DUE TO DROP-INS OR NO-SHOWS.

Schedule:

7:00 - 7:30 pm:

Arrive, setup, drop-in team assignment, warmup.  Red team is assigned rink setup, Blue team responsible for assigning scorekeeper and rink cleanup.

7:30 - 7:50:  Training Topic - 2-2, 2-1 rushes

7:50 - 8:00:  Warmup, game prep, final rosters submitted

8:00 - 9:15:  Game (3 x 20 min)

9:15:  Cleanup (Blue team puts away boards/nets)

Week #3 Training Topic:

2-2, 2-1 rushes.  Includes offensive strategies, defensive responsibilities, goalie interface.  There were clear breakdowns last week that resulted in goals scored.  EVERYBODY needs this review so be ready to participate at 7:30.

Last week's game was very close on the scoreboard.  Blue eked out the win 6-5 and dominated possession, outshooting Red 36-22.  Chris Ekman tallied 3 goals, two of which were heads up plays on turnovers.  Nick and Landon VanPatten each had a goal and assist.  Ethan VanPatten picked up the win in net with 17 saves on 22 shots against.  Case Connor picked up 2 goals for Blue and Dan Torretta had 1 goal and 2 assists.  Alex Gross had 30 saves on 36 shots against.  Remember, since we change teams each week, the team name listed for a player on the stats page reflects the current team assignment and not the team where points were earned. 

If you haven't registered for summer league, no problem.  Drop-ins are encouraged.  Pay only $10.
