NTFA Summer League - Week #6 (Jul 19, 2021)

NTFA Summer 2021 League Game #6 is Monday, July 19, 2021.

Captains for this week are Joakim Soederbaum - Blue (903-257-8195) and Jari Voutilainen - Red (682-715-5531).  Rosters are posted.  Joakim's team (BLUE) will arrive early to set up boards.  EVERYBODY SHOULD BRING A RED AND A BLUE JERSEY IN CASE OF ROSTER ADJUSTMENTS DUE TO DROP-INS OR NO-SHOWS.

Schedule:

7:00 - 7:30 pm:

Arrive, setup, drop-in team assignment, warmup.  Blue team is assigned rink setup, Red team responsible for rink cleanup.

7:30 - 7:50:  Training Topic - Penalty Shots

7:50 - 8:00:  Warmup, game prep, final rosters submitted

8:00 - 9:15:  Game (3 x 20 min)

9:15:  Cleanup (Red team puts away boards/nets)

Week #6 Training Topic:

Penalty Shots.  Why are they awarded?  Basic rules - who can take, where do you start, what you can/cannot do - player and goalie.  Strategies - player and goalie. Be ready to participate at 7:30.

Our last game was a high scoring affair.  Red very much dominated scoring 10 goals through two periods before Blue got on the board.  Jonathan Yonai led all field players with 5 goals and 5 assists while Tyler Radichel potted 4 goals with 2 assists.  Alex Gross had 27 saves on 33 shots against for the win and Ethan VanPatten took the loss stopping 28 of 45.  Final score:  Red 17, Blue 6.

Drop-ins are encouraged and we are expecting several new players this week.  Pay only $10.  Be sure to check in at the scorer table as soon as you arrive so we have time to get you rostered for the evening.
